The same journey, in a more private setting

Our private tours are designed for travelers who love the Walk About Italy way of traveling and would like to experience it exclusively with their own family, friends, or pre-formed group.

Rather than being created from scratch, our private tours are based on the same carefully crafted itineraries as our group tours. This is a deliberate choice. We believe these journeys already represent the most meaningful and well-balanced way to experience each destination.

Pompeii with our guide

Every Walk About Italy itinerary has been created with great care. The sequence of places, the pace of the week, the walks, the meals, the local encounters, and the overall rhythm of the journey are not accidental. They are the result of years of experience and of a deep understanding of what truly allows a region to reveal itself. For this reason, the core structure of the tour remains the same: we consider it the very essence of the place we are inviting you to discover.

What changes in a private tour is not the soul of the itinerary, but the setting in which you experience it. Instead of joining other travelers on a scheduled departure, you travel only with the people you choose, enjoying the journey in a more intimate and exclusive way.

One important advantage of a private tour is flexibility of departure date. Guests may choose their preferred travel dates freely, and we will confirm them once we have verified the availability of hotels, guides, and transportation services. In this way, the experience remains faithful to the quality and structure of our established itineraries, while offering the convenience of a departure planned around the client’s schedule.

In special cases, limited adjustments may be possible, but always without changing the backbone of the tour. This is important to us. We do not see the itinerary as a loose collection of interchangeable services, but as a coherent experience designed to express the character of a region in the best possible way.

Locorotondo

Private tours are therefore ideal for couples, families, groups of friends, or small private parties who want the quality, identity, and philosophy of our established journeys, but in a more exclusive format.

They remain fully rooted in what defines Walk About Italy: Italian-led guiding, authentic local experiences, gentle walking, memorable food and wine, and a pace that allows each place to be understood rather than simply passed through.

If our group tours are about sharing the journey with like-minded travelers, our private tours offer that same journey in a more personal and dedicated way — without changing what makes it special in the first place.
